Some people will actively try to hide the way they feel because they’re aware that it isn’t widely accepted. Young people are often afraid that divulging information about their gender identify or sexuality will result in them not being supported, or even getting disowned by their family.

It is important that young LGBT people talk when they are ready and when support is in place for them.
